A letter from the founder

I started working on Psync after seeing firsthand how care breaks down between therapy visits: care that isn't consistent, information spread across different places, and long stretches between sessions that nobody can see into.

In the summer of 2022 I began testing what AI could do about it: sentiment analysis, clustering, mapping patterns in how people think and write. The tools were early. The goal was the one we still have: support the connection between clinician and client, not replace it.

A machine learning course in college turned those ideas into prototypes. They showed the idea could help people, and that I couldn't build it alone.

In the spring of 2023 my co-founder and I presented Psync at a business competition. Some judges saw the potential. Others raised fair concerns about privacy, HIPAA and the role of AI in healthcare. That told us where the real work was: earning trust.

That summer we joined an accelerator. Through the fall of 2023 and the winter of 2024 we interviewed dozens of therapists, psychologists and clients. They described the same gaps: the administrative load, the missing information, the time between sessions.

In the summer of 2024 we joined an NIH entrepreneurship cohort and learned what responsible health software takes: security, compliance and clinical validation.

Psync is now in beta with a small group of clinics. What we build comes from those conversations.
